BPL 2022 start date announced by the official authority which is set to 20th January. This year six franchises will take part in the tournament and the final will be held on 21 January 2022.
Recently BCB publish the player price list with discrimination local and foreign players. Six categories A+, A, B, C, D, and E are created here.
A+ category foreign player will get 64 lakh 50 thousand taka where our local A+ cricket Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal will get 50 lakh taka. Even a C category foreign player will be paid more than an A category local player. Seriously this is unfair for the local cricketer.
However, a franchise can sign one player from each category in the draft list except the E category (any franchise can sign 5 players from the E category).
A franchise must sign a minimum of three foreign cricket where the maximum number is eight.

BPL 2022 Start Time

Bangladesh Premier League T20 (BPL) 2022 Venue
As scheduled, BPL 2022 is going to start very soon. Bangladesh will host the complete BPL 2022. All the matches will be held on three grand grounds stated in three different districts of our country. Let’s have a look at the fixed three venues in detail:
Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium: It is most famous in the name of Mirpur Stadium. The stadium is about 10 kilometers away from the center city of Dhaka, which has developed for national and international sports matches. The stadium’s maximum capacity is up to 25k people and has a built-in rectangular shape.
Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium: The most grand and the main cricket ground located in the port city of Chittagong. In 2006, it was granted as the international stadium during Sri Lanka’s tour in our country. The seating capacity of the stadium is 20,000 people. The complete concreted stadium is in the acres of prime agricultural land, having a three-tier pavilion.
Sylhet International Cricket Stadium:The stadium is mainly known as Sylhet stadium situated in Sylhet, the northeastern city of Bangladesh. It is the only stadium in our country with a beautiful green gallery. Beautiful natural viewing hills are adjacent to this international standard stadium. The capacity of the stadium is around 18,000 people.
Bangladesh Premier League T20 (BPL) 2022 Teams
On the 8th season of the Bangladesh Premier League, Eight strong teams will participate. Let’s have an overview of the teams that stands in this BPL tournament:
- Dhaka Platoon
The Dhaka Platoon team plays in BPL to represent the Dhaka division. It is one of the most iconic cricket teams among the people of Bangladesh. The team is headquartered in the Mirpur stadium. Among the seven previous seasons, Dhaka Platoon has won the championship in 3 seasons and become runners-up in 2 seasons.
- Rajshahi Royals
It is one of the most defending Bangladeshi franchise Twenty20 cricket teams based in Rajshahi in Bangladesh. The team has competed in Bangladesh Premium League in the previous seven seasons. In 2019-2020, the team gained the championship for the first time in BPL.
- Chattogram Challengers
They are also franchised crickets teams that mainly play on BPL. The team is known in various names in the past BPL like Chattogram Kings in 2012 and Chattogram Vikings in 2015. In all BPL seasons, the Chattogram Challengers participate with all strong squads.
- Khulna Tigers
As well as others, the Khulna tigers are also the most popular team who participate in BPL to represent the Khulna division of Bangladesh. The team played as Khulna Royal Bengals and Khulna Titans in the past BPL. After being sponsored by Premier Bank Limited, it was replaced by Khulna Tigers.
- Sylhet thunder
The Sylhet thunder team is based in Sylhet, Bangladesh, and plays in BPL. Bangladesh Cricket Board has owned this team. The team practices their home games in Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The teams always play strongly in all BPL seasons, sometimes as the Sylhet Royals or Sylhet Super Stars and SylhetSixers.
- Rangpur Rangers
Rangpur Rangers plays in BPL to represent Rangpur city, Bangladesh. They play their practice games in the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. In the BPL 5th season, the Rangpur Rangers have owned their first championship while playing against Dhaka Dynamites.
- Cumilla Warriors
The most professional and successful team participates and strongly competes in BPL. Cumilla Warriors are the first BPL team with the highest winning rate and won the championship twice. But the team was debuted in the 3rd BPL season in 2015 and crowned with a winner that year.
